Dawgs on top!

I'm linking up with Sami's Shenanigans to share my weekend. It was the first home game in Athens!

Our new tailgate location was great! We had a wonderful shady spot and easy access to in-door plumbing. At one point during the day there was a large contingent of small children at the tailgate, and their parents made alcohol free jello shots (aka, jello in a little cup).  Perfect for small children and pregnant adults! I will admit one positive of being pregnant at a football game... the line for the bathroom. As soon as ladies saw me standing they immediately told me to go to the front of the line. I doubt I waited more than 3 minutes for the bathroom at any given time.!

While it might be nearing fall the temperature here is still high, and in the stadium it is even worse. Kyle brought home hand fans before we left for the game. I have no idea why we didn't think of these sooner! Made sitting in the heat MUCH more bearable. Or if you are like the old lady that sat in front of us you will read a book on your iPad the entire game in order to make your experience more enjoyable (seriously!) While sitting on the hard benches was getting to me by the third quarter, the game was so good I couldn't leave. And I am glad I didn't because the Dawgs won!

Sunday we couldn't pick Gigi up until 6:00pm so we took advantage of being dogless and slept in. We ran errands in the afternoon that included buying a new mattress and complete new bedding for our master bedroom. We got this lovely duvet set on sale for half off. I think I am turning into my mother because I love finding a good deal!

All in all a wonderful weekend and a great first home game!

Glory, glory to tailgating season!

College football officially kicked off last weekend, but this Saturday is the first Georgia home game!! Now that we live off campus tailgating has become a little more complicated, BUT that won't stop us! We are gearing up for our game against South Carolina and making some yummy dishes to share with our best tailgating friends.

Does anyone have any fun non-alcoholic tailgating drink ideas??? I am getting desperate.

And since it is still SUPER HOT outside, I will be wearing one of my favorite dresses. I will admit there are some great new gameday patterns at Tracy Negoshian.

I'm just sad I won't have my favorite tailgating buddy with me.

We decided to board Gigi overnight at her vet's office. We are also going to do that for the home game against LSU. It just seems better for her because we will be gone all day.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

28th Birthday!

So this post is late, but I was too busy recovering from the weekend to finish it up. My birthday was last Friday. And my parents came in to celebrate. Aren't they too cute?!

Friday night we went to dinner at Porterhouse Grill and then hung out downtown. Had to show them Pauley's!

Saturday was Homecoming, the Ole Miss game and tailgating! The wonderful friends we tailgate with got me a birthday cake WITH CANDLES! I can't remember the last time I blew out candles. Very special!

Gigi was out in full force.

And loves my dad!

There was lots of corn hole.

Me and my mom.

Family picture before heading to the game!

My dad and I sat in some friends seats which are six rows back. We passed where the past Uga's are buried.

And since it was homecoming all the alumni come back and participate, here are some alumni cheerleaders. Precious.

After the game we headed back to the apartment to watch the LSU v. Bama game.

Gigi looks HUGE in my mom's arms.

I fell asleep watching the game. Thanks for taking the picture mom.

It was a great birthday weekend with my family. 28 is going to be great, I can feel it.

Tailgate Recipes Week 1

I thought I would recap the recipes Kyle and I made for our first tailgate of the football season.

I made Oreo Poke Cake from The Country Cook. Super easy, totally delicious. I had no idea they make cookies and cream pudding!

Bake a chocolate cake from a box. And poke holes in it with the end of a wooden spoon.

Make two boxes of cookies and cream instant pudding.

Pour pudding over cake and put in fridge to set. YUM!

Kyle made Sausage and Cheese Brunch Tarts found here. Not as easy to assemble as my poke cake, but very delicious.

Line muffin tins with Bisquik pastry and fill with your cooked sausage.

Cover sausage with egg and half and half mixture and top with cheese.

Bake in the oven.

Successful first tailgate recipes!
